Hey Banner,
I'm trying to figure out how to get Pastor Ron's blog onto my page. I copied the url but it didn't seem to work. Granted it doesn't help that I'm no good with computers, but I was wondering if you had some helpful advice.
Thanks for starting this, praise the Lord!
Yes I am my own friend! Ha! I simply created a member page in addition to my other page in order to have an RSS feed for my blog, since Pastor Ron's blog is on my other page.
My profile picture is me and my oldest sister in the late '50's in my Papaw Green's house in the Tanyard (that was the name of the farm he owned). The Tanyard is located on Little Mud Creek, in Floyd County, in East Kentucky.
I've lived in Indiana since I was 10 years old. I'm in my 50's now.
It strikes me as odd that a guy who was raised in the Old Regular Baptist religion, was saved and attended a charismatic fellowship, left there and tried an independent, left there, disillusioned, searching, almost gave up and then I found Maranatha Christian Fellowship. This was part of the Calvary Chapel movement (Chuck Smith - Costa Mesa, CA). We later renamed the fellowship to Calvary Christian Fellowship. After many years of being in fellowship with CC Costa Mesa, and housing 3 of their radio stations (I managed their stations) we came to a fork in the road because of our stumbling on to the Truth that we, as a church, have been lied to for generations. The Torah is not abolished, has not been nailed to the cross, is still applicable to a believer in Messiah today! Wow! That was earth shaking, and still is. Needless to say we are no longer in fellowship with CC Costa Mesa. Chuck Smith rejects the Torah as still for us today. In so doing he disfellowshipped us. But what he intended as a punishment is a blessing as we are at peace with the Savior, Elohim, Yeshua and are growing and have the joy of the Lord. His glory in is our midst as His presence is there. Worship is truly communing with Him, enjoying His awesome, loving, presence.
We meet each Shabbat, at 5 PM for a family meal (each brings something to share) a time spent in the Word (currently looking at the weekly Torah reading, with each, Lord willing, coming with something to share as well. We close out with a time of worship, led by our worship band, and then many of us hang out for an hour or two visiting, discussing the goodness of the Lord, praying together, dancing and in general being, as best we can as He leads, a holy convocation to Him.
